RISE Safeguarding and Child Protection
RISE Safeguarding and Child Protection
Safeguarding is everyone’s responsibility.
RISE is fully committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children, young people, adults and families. Nothing is more important to us than ensuring people are safe, listened to and supported.
We work in line with Working Together to Safeguard Children (2023) and relevant legislation and statutory frameworks, and we collaborate closely with partner agencies to protect those who may be at risk of harm.
Our Commitment
We are committed to:
- Keeping children, young people and adults safe from harm and abuse
- Putting the lived experience, wishes and feelings of children and adults at the centre of our work
- Working with families in a respectful, strengths-based and transparent way
- Identifying concerns early and providing timely support
- Sharing information appropriately to protect people from harm
- Promoting equality, diversity and inclusion in all safeguarding practice
How We Safeguard
All staff, volunteers and partners have a duty to safeguard and report concerns
Staff receive appropriate safeguarding training and regular supervision
We follow local safeguarding procedures and statutory guidance
We act immediately where there are concerns about significant harm
We challenge discrimination, bias and unsafe practice
build confidence and support a smooth return to education
Information Sharing
We understand that effective safeguarding depends on good information sharing. Where there are safety concerns:
- Information will be shared lawfully, proportionately and promptly
- We would seek consent where necessary, but consent is not always required if someone may be at risk
- Data protection will not be used as a barrier to safeguarding
Working Together
Safeguarding works best when agencies work together. RISE is committed to strong multi-agency working, professional curiosity and respectful challenge to ensure the best possible outcomes.
